Zverev Beats Rublev, Reaches Nitto ATP Finals Semifinals
Zverev Extends Winning Streak to 10
Alexander Zverev continued his impressive form at the Nitto ATP Finals on Thursday, defeating Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-4 to reach the semifinals.
The German extended his winning streak to 10 matches and will face either Casper Ruud or Carlos Alcaraz in the last four.
Zverev's Dominance Continues
Zverev started the match strongly, breaking Rublev's serve in the opening game.
He raced to a 5-0 lead before Rublev finally got on the board.
Zverev served out the set in just 28 minutes.
Rublev Fights Back in Second Set
Rublev showed more resistance in the second set, breaking Zverev's serve in the third game.
However, Zverev responded immediately, breaking back in the next game.
The set remained on serve until 4-4, when Zverev broke again to take control.
Zverev Advances to Semifinals
Zverev served out the match in the 10th game, sealing his victory in one hour and 17 minutes.
The German is now one win away from reaching the final of the season-ending tournament.
Up Next for Zverev
Zverev will face either Ruud or Alcaraz in the semifinals on Saturday.
Ruud defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in his quarterfinal match, while Alcaraz beat Holger Rune.
