Lady Bears return home to host Missouri State
Lady Bears seek third-consecutive win
The Missouri State Lady Bears (1-1) will be making their second appearance of the season at JQH Arena, taking on the Lady Bears of Baylor (2-1) on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. CT.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Missouri State Athletics App.
The Lady Bears are coming off a 75-69 win over Southern Illinois on Friday night, their first win of the season. The game was tied at the half before MSU pulled away. Aniya Thomas led the way with her first double-double of the season, scoring a team-high 18 points and bringing down 11 rebounds.
Missouri State is led by sophomore forward Abby Hipp, who is averaging 13 points and 13 rebounds per game. Redshirt freshman Sydney Manning is averaging 12.5 points per game, and senior guard Elle Ruffridge is averaging 11.5 points and team-high five assists per game.
Baylor is coming off a 72-35 win over McNeese State on Monday night. They are led by senior guard Sarah Andrews, who is averaging 11.3 points per game. Redshirt junior forward Caitlin Bickel is averaging 10.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, and senior center NaLyssa Smith is averaging 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
The Lady Bears are 4-0 all-time against Missouri State, and they have won the last three meetings. The last time the two teams met was in the 2019-20 season, when Baylor won 68-56 in Springfield.
