With 15+ Points, Mustangs' Anderson Earns NSIC South Player Of The Week Honors

Southwest Minnesota State University junior guard Jaden Anderson has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) South Division Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 13-19.

Anderson averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Mustangs. He shot 60 percent from the field (18 of 30), 46.7 percent from 3-point range (7 of 15) and 88.9 percent from the free throw line (8 of 9).

In a 92-76 home win over Upper Iowa on Feb. 15, Anderson had 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists. He made 8 of 12 shots from the field and 3 of 5 from 3-point range.

In a 75-64 road win at Sioux Falls on Feb. 18, Anderson had 23 points, four rebounds and four assists. He was 10 of 18 from the field, 4 of 9 from 3-point range and 3 of 3 from the free throw line.

Anderson, a native of Crystal, Minn., is now averaging 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season.

SMSU (18-7, 13-6 NSIC) is currently in second place in the NSIC South Division standings. The Mustangs close out the regular season with home games against Concordia-St. Paul on Friday, Feb. 24 and Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Feb. 25.
