Washington Commanders, community partner team up to inspire youth in Prince George’s County
Clinic, to be hosted at Suitland High School on Saturday, will teach football fundamentals, life skills
The Washington Commanders and rapper Wale are teaming up to host a free youth football clinic in Prince George's County on Saturday, July 29. The clinic, which will be held at Suitland High School from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., is open to boys and girls ages 8-14.
The clinic will be led by Commanders coaches and players, and will focus on teaching the fundamentals of football, as well as life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Wale, a Grammy-nominated rapper and philanthropist, will also be on hand to speak to the kids about the importance of education and giving back to the community.
The clinic is part of the Commanders' commitment to supporting youth football in the DMV area. The team has partnered with several local organizations to provide free clinics and equipment to underserved communities. The Commanders also host a number of youth football camps throughout the year.
Wale, who grew up in Prince George's County, is a longtime supporter of youth football. He has donated money to local programs and has spoken out about the importance of providing opportunities for kids to play the game.
