UND women pull away in third quarter to beat Dickinson State 77-58
UND women's basketball team defeated Dickinson State University 77-58 on Friday night at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center
The Fighting Hawks (2-1) pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Blue Hawks (1-2) 26-14. UND led by just two points at halftime, but the Hawks shot 50% from the field in the third quarter and held Dickinson State to just 25% shooting.
Senior guard Lexi Klabo led the way for UND with 22 points, while junior forward Melissa Dailey added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Emily Evers also scored in double figures with 11 points.
UND took advantage of its size advantage in the paint, outscoring Dickinson State 36-20 in the paint
The Hawks also forced 19 turnovers and converted them into 22 points. Dickinson State was led by junior guard Madison Wilhelmi, who scored 16 points. Senior forward Lexi Bullinger added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Hawks.
UND will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Valley City State University at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
