Staley Earns 400th Career Victory
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team defeated Coppin State 95-37 on Tuesday night at Colonial Life Arena. The win was the 400th of Dawn Staley's career as a head coach.
Strong Start
The Gamecocks jumped out to a 20-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They led by as many as 32 points in the second quarter and took a 51-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Balanced Scoring
South Carolina had four players score in double figures, led by Aliyah Boston's 16 points. Brea Beal added 15 points, Zia Cooke had 13 points, and Victaria Saxton scored 11 points.
Staley's Milestone
Dawn Staley became the 10th active Division I women's basketball coach to reach 400 career victories. She is now 400-143 overall, including a 275-67 record at South Carolina.
Dominant Defense
The Gamecocks held Coppin State to just 37 points, their lowest point total of the season. They also forced 20 turnovers and blocked five shots.

South Carolina will return to action on Sunday, December 4, when they host No. 2 Maryland at Colonial Life Arena. The game is scheduled to tip off at 1 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN.
