Slovenia 1 Norway 4 Full time
Norway thrashed Slovenia in the Nations League on Saturday, 1st October 2022, to maintain their perfect record in Group B4.
Norway took advantage of a terrible defensive mistake from Slovenia to take the lead after 24 minutes. Haaland found himself unmarked and played in by a lofted pass over the top and buried his 21st international goal with aplomb.
The visitors doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark. Slovenia's Domen Crnigoj deflected a cross into his own net after a surging run down the right by full-back Marcus Pedersen.
And just three minutes later Norway had a third. Leeds winger Kristoffer Klaesson was fouled in the box and Haaland made no mistake from the spot to practically make the game safe before half-time.
Substitute Benjamin Sesko pulled a goal back for 10-man Slovenia late on but Haaland added his second of the night just minutes later to seal the win for Norway.
The win takes Norway top of Group B4 with 12 points from four games and leaves them needing just one win from their final two matches to secure promotion to League A.
Slovenia, meanwhile, are bottom of the group with just two points and will now be relegated to League C for the next edition of the Nations League.
