Six Flags to Close Two Thrill Rides
Iconic Kingda Ka, Green Lantern Coasters to Bid Farewell
Amusement park giant Six Flags has announced plans to close two of its most popular thrill rides, Kingda Ka and Green Lantern, to make way for new and exciting attractions.
Kingda Ka: A Towering Goliath
Kingda Ka, located at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, holds the record as the world's tallest and second-fastest roller coaster. It debuted in 2005 and has been a fan favorite ever since, propelling riders 456 feet into the air before plunging them down a 418-foot drop at speeds of up to 128 miles per hour.
Six Flags has not yet revealed what will replace Kingda Ka, but it has promised a "next-generation" experience that will push the boundaries of roller coaster design.
Green Lantern: A Superhero Sojourn
Green Lantern, located at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, is a steel roller coaster inspired by the DC Comics character. It features a unique floorless design that gives riders the sensation of soaring through the air like superheroes.
Six Flags plans to replace Green Lantern with a new coaster that will be themed after the popular Justice League franchise. The new ride is expected to offer a thrilling and immersive experience for fans of the DC Universe.
Exciting Future Ahead
The closure of Kingda Ka and Green Lantern marks the end of an era for Six Flags, but it also signals the beginning of a new one. The park's commitment to innovation and providing thrilling experiences for its guests remains unwavering, and the upcoming rides are sure to deliver on that promise.
