S. Korea coach not decided on Son's availability in World Cup qualifier vs. Kuwait
South Korea coach Paulo Bento is still undecided on whether to include Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min in his squad for next week's World Cup qualifier against Kuwait.
Son, who has been in excellent form for Spurs this season, is currently recovering from a muscle injury and is a doubt for the match.
Bento is expected to make a decision on Son's inclusion after the player has been assessed by the team's medical staff.
If Son is not available, it will be a major blow to South Korea's hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.
The Taegeuk Warriors are currently second in Group H, three points behind leaders Iran.
They will need to win their remaining two matches, against Kuwait and Lebanon, to have any chance of reaching the finals in Qatar.
Son is South Korea's most important player and his absence would be a major setback.
The 29-year-old is the team's captain and has scored 34 goals in 104 appearances.
He has been in particularly good form for Tottenham this season, scoring 12 goals in 20 matches.
