Eagles Soar to Victory
The Philadelphia Eagles soared to victory on Thursday Night Football, demolishing the Washington Commanders 28-22 to clinch the NFC East title.
The Eagles' offense was firing on all cylinders, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles' defense was equally impressive, holding the Commanders to just 22 points. The Eagles sacked Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke six times and forced two turnovers.
Commanders Fall Short
The Commanders put up a valiant effort, but ultimately fell short against the Eagles. Heinicke threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns, but was also intercepted twice.
The Commanders' defense struggled to contain the Eagles' offense, allowing Hurts to run and pass at will. The Eagles also converted 10 of 17 third downs, keeping the Commanders' defense on the field for long stretches.
NFC East Title Clinched
With the win, the Eagles clinched the NFC East title. The Eagles are now 13-3 and have a two-game lead over the Dallas Cowboys with just two games remaining in the regular season.
The Eagles will look to finish the regular season strong and secure a high seed in the NFC playoffs. The Commanders, now 8-7, will need to win their remaining two games and get some help from other teams in order to make the playoffs.
