One Person Dies in Greenfield House Fire on Silver Street

What Happened?

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – One person died in a house fire on Silver Street in Greenfield on Sunday, according to the Greenfield Fire Department.

Firefighters and police responded to the scene at 5:01 p.m. for a report of a structure fire. They arrived to find heavy fire showing from the second story of the home.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and search the building. One person was found dead inside the home.

The Victim

The victim has been identified as a 65-year-old woman who lived in the home.

Her name has not been released.
