Nick Sirianni didn’t show Eagles the viral Jalen Carter sack of Jayden Daniels
The Eagles had a bye this past week, so they had plenty of time to study up on their next opponent, the Cardinals. One of the Cardinals’ most impressive players this season has been defensive tackle Jalen Carter.
Carter is a 6-foot-3, 300-pounder who has 4.5 sacks this season. He is also one of the most athletic defensive tackles in the NFL.
Last week, Carter had a viral sack of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jayden Daniels. The sack was so impressive that it was even featured on ESPN’s SportsCenter. However, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni did not show his team the sack.
“I didn’t show our guys that sack,” Sirianni said. “I don’t want them to get caught up in that. I want them to focus on what we need to do to win the game.”
Sirianni’s decision not to show his team the sack is understandable. He does not want his players to be intimidated by Carter. He wants them to focus on their own game plan and not worry about what the Cardinals are going to do.
The Eagles will need to be at their best to beat the Cardinals. Carter is a major threat, but the Eagles have a talented offensive line that should be able to handle him. If the Eagles can protect quarterback Jalen Hurts and give him time to throw, they should be able to win the game.
