Memphis takes down UNLV

Tigers' defense stifles Rebels in 70-60 victory

Memphis won its third consecutive game by defeating UNLV 70-60 in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.

The Tigers held the Rebels to 35% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers.

Kendric Davis led Memphis with 18 points and 7 assists.

Emoni Bates added 16 points and 7 rebounds, while DeAndre Williams contributed 12 points.

For UNLV, Donovan Williams led the way with 16 points.

Bryce Hamilton added 14 points, and Luis Rodriguez chipped in 10.

The Tigers took control of the game in the second half.

Memphis built a 10-point lead with just over 12 minutes remaining and held on for the victory.

The win improved Memphis' record to 15-6 overall and 7-4 in the American Athletic Conference.

UNLV dropped to 14-7 overall and 6-5 in the Mountain West Conference.

Memphis will return to action on Saturday when they host SMU.

UNLV will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to face Boise State.
