Islanders Bo Horvat To Play In Vancouver For Just Second Time Since Trade: 'It's Still Nerve-Wracking'
Canucks lost to Islanders 6-5
Bo Horvat will play in Vancouver for just the second time since being traded to the New York Islanders in January, and he admits it's still a little nerve-wracking.
"It's always a little weird coming back to a place where you've been for so long," Horvat said. "But it's also exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and playing in front of the fans again."
Horvat was traded to the Islanders on Jan. 30
Horvat was traded to the Islanders on Jan. 30 in a deal that sent Anthony Beauvillier and Aatu Raty to the Canucks.
The 27-year-old centerman has 14 goals and 17 assists in 34 games with the Islanders, and he's hoping to continue his strong play against his former team.
Islanders lost to Canucks 6-5
In their first meeting since the trade, the Islanders lost to the Canucks 6-5 in a shootout on Feb. 25.
Horvat had a goal and an assist in the game, but it wasn't enough to help the Islanders get the win.
Horvat is expected to be a key player for the Islanders
The Islanders are hoping that Horvat can help them make a playoff push this season.
The team is currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, and they're just two points out of a wild-card spot.
Horvat is a proven scorer and playmaker, and he could be the missing piece that the Islanders need to make a run in the playoffs.
