Iniesta Purchases Football Club
Andres Iniesta, the legendary Spanish footballer, has recently acquired a football club in his hometown of Fuentealbilla, Spain.
The newly acquired club is called CD Iniesta and will compete in the Tercera Division RFEF, the fifth tier of the Spanish football league system.
Iniesta, who played for Barcelona for 16 seasons and won numerous trophies, including nine La Liga titles and four Champions League titles, has always been passionate about football and has expressed his desire to give back to the game.
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca, Iniesta said, "I'm very excited about this new project. I've always wanted to give back to football, and I think this is the perfect way to do it."
CD Iniesta will be managed by Iniesta's former teammate, Jordi Cruyff, who also played for Barcelona and the Netherlands national team.
Cruyff has a wealth of experience in football management, having previously managed Maccabi Tel Aviv, Chongqing Dangdai Lifan, and Ecuador's national team.
Iniesta has said that he hopes CD Iniesta will eventually reach the top tier of Spanish football, La Liga. He also wants the club to be a source of pride for the people of Fuentealbilla.
"I want CD Iniesta to be a club that the people of Fuentealbilla can be proud of," Iniesta said. "I want it to be a club that represents our values and our community."
Iniesta's acquisition of CD Iniesta is a sign of his commitment to football and his desire to give back to the game. It is also a sign of his belief in the potential of his hometown club.
