Guerrero sets career blocks record, Eagles win season opener at Rams
Eagles block Rams twice in first 7:44 of regulation
Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has tormented the Philadelphia Eagles for years, but on Sunday, he was on the other side of a beatdown.
The Eagles blocked Donald twice in the first 7:44 of regulation, helping set up a pair of touchdowns and pave the way to a 33-25 victory at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., in the season opener for both teams.
It was the first time in Donald’s 10-year NFL career that he was blocked for two touchdowns in a game, and just the third time overall that he was blocked.
The Eagles defense, which features three first-round draft picks in the defensive front, also sacked Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford four times.
The Eagles took a 19-0 lead in the second quarter and were never threatened.
