Greece vs England live updates: Nations League result as Carsley's side go top with impressive 3-0 win
England Under-21s opened their Nations League campaign with a 3-0 victory against Greece in Colchester.
Goals from Jacob Ramsey, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer earned Ashley Cole’s side an impressive win and top spot in Group C4.
England dominated from the outset, with Alex Scott forcing a smart save from goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis in the opening moments.
They took the lead through Ramsey in the 24th minute, with the Aston Villa midfielder finding the bottom corner with a low drive from outside the area.
Gallagher doubled their advantage in the 59th minute, converting from close range after Sam Greenwood’s shot had been parried by Tzolakis.
Palmer added a third in the 87th minute, slotting home from close range after good work from substitute Callum Doyle.
The win gives England a perfect start to their Nations League campaign and sees them move top of Group C4, ahead of Albania, Greece and Kosovo.
England will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Albania for their second game in the competition.
