LSU Rallies Back From 15-Point Deficit
The LSU Tigers men's basketball team rallied from a 15-point deficit and hit 28 free throws to beat the Arizona State Sun Devils 83-82 on Thursday night in Tempe, Arizona.
LSU star Tari Eason missed the game due to an ankle injury, but Darius Days put in a standout performance with 23 points. Efton Reid added 15 points for LSU, and Brandon Murray chipped in 14 points.
Arizona State's Desmond Cambridge Jr. led all scorers with 25 points, and DJ Horne chipped in 20 points for the Sun Devils.
Free Throws Prove to be the Difference
LSU made 28 of 36 free throws in the game, while Arizona State only made 10 of 17. The Tigers' ability to knock down free throws proved to be the difference in the game.
In the final seconds of the game, LSU was up by one point. Murray was fouled on a three-point attempt and hit all three free throws to give the Tigers a 83-80 lead.
Arizona State had a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer at the buzzer, but Horne's shot was off the mark, and LSU held on for the victory.
LSU Improves to 12-1
With the win, LSU improves to 12-1 on the season. The Tigers are now 3-0 in Pac-12 play.
LSU will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Oregon Ducks. Arizona State falls to 7-6 on the season and 0-3 in Pac-12 play.
The Sun Devils will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Utah Utes.
