Carjacking Suspect in Beverly Hills Crashes Into 4 People Near Rodeo Drive Holiday Lights Show

Four people were injured, one critically, when a carjacking suspect crashed into a group of pedestrians near the Rodeo Drive holiday lights show in Beverly Hills on Wednesday evening.

The suspect, a 28-year-old man, was driving a stolen Porsche when he struck the pedestrians at the intersection of North Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way at about 6:30 p.m., according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The victims were taken to a local hospital, where one was listed in critical condition and three others were treated for moderate to minor injuries.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and was being held on suspicion of carjacking, hit-and-run, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The crash occurred near the popular holiday lights show on Rodeo Drive, which attracts thousands of visitors each year.

The show, which features more than 100,000 lights, is a major tourist attraction and a popular spot for holiday shopping.

The crash is the latest in a series of carjackings and other crimes that have plagued Beverly Hills in recent months.

In October, a group of armed robbers stole a Rolex watch from a man in the city's business district.

The Beverly Hills Police Department has increased patrols in the area in an effort to deter crime.

The department is also urging residents to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity.
